Institutional Ethics Committee

Institutional Ethics Committee ANIIMS, Sri Vijaya Puram being a premier Medical Institute of Islands, is committed to conducting clinical research to benefit the society and to maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct in research and to adhere to the rules and regulations of regulatory authorities governing biomedical research. As the Institute places utmost value to Human Ethics and in order to ensure competent review of all ethical aspects of project proposal received and execute the same free from any bias and influence that could affect the objective, an Institutional Ethics committee (IEC) has been formed. All the research proposals of the Institute involving human participants are first reviewed by the Scientific review committee and then examined and reviewed by IEC. The IEC, ANIIMS, Sri Vijaya Puram has been formed in accordance with the terms of reference of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi and follows the Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical Research on Human Participants designed by ICMR. The IEC, ANIIMS, Sri Vijaya Puram has been registered with the Central Drug Standard Control Organization, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India vide Reg.No.EC/NEW/INST/2020/835.
