Programs Offered
Community Medicine teaching adopts a multifaceted approach to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of public health. The curriculum includes lectures, small group discussions, demonstrations, and clinico-social case work-ups that integrate clinical and social perspectives.
Community visits and visits to institutions of public health importance provide experiential learning opportunities, allowing students to gain practical insights into health systems and community-based healthcare delivery.
In addition to undergraduate medical education, the department also functions as a Programme Study Centre under the IGNOU Regional Centre, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It currently offers the Bridge Programme Certificate in Community Health for Nurses and is actively working towards introducing additional academic programmes
