Anti Ragging Committee
The Honorable Supreme Court of India has laid down practices and procedures to be adopted to prevent ragging in educational institutions. The Medical Council of India has published detailed regulations, “The Medical Council of India (Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging in Medical Colleges/Institutions) Regulations, 2009”, to eradicate the menace of ragging. Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), Sri Vijaya Puram is fully committed to follow the law in letter and spirit, and hence the Anti-Ragging Committee has been constituted.
Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the ANIIMS campus. Ragging is a serious crime and is punishable by law. Anyone found indulging in ragging will face immediate expulsion from ANIIMS and will also be debarred from pursuing their course.

Legal Provisions
As per the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, ragging has been completely banned inside and outside the ANIIMS campus. Anyone who directly or indirectly commits, participates, abets or instigates ragging shall face strict disciplinary action:
- Immediate suspension or rustication from the institution.
- Filing of FIR against the offender.
- Fine up to Rs. 10,000/-.
- Withholding/withdrawing fellowship, scholarship, financial benefits or results.
- Expulsion in case of proven ragging involvement.
