Teaching & Training
The theory and clinical classes of undergraduate students are being conducted as per the university and MCI guidelines for the 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 batches simultaneously. Final-year students are posted in the labour room and operation theatre to observe deliveries, procedures, and operations in rotation and small groups. They are also encouraged to present, thereby gaining confidence in public speaking, which helps in their personality development. Junior Residents (JRs) and Senior Residents (SRs) perform 24x7 duties, providing comprehensive management across various workstations such as OPD, labour room, indoor patients, operation theatre, and cross consultations, under the guidance of faculty.
Patient Care
The OPD is functional on all working days. In addition to routine OPD work, special care is provided for high-risk pregnancies, infertility, gynecological oncology, post-menopausal cases, adolescent age group, and family planning. Services such as contraception counseling, MTP, Copper-T insertions, and female sterilization are carried out regularly. Patients requiring higher-level management are referred to empanelled centers on the mainland under the ANISHI and Ayushman Bharat Schemes of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Administration through proper channels.
