Overview

The Dental Department at GB Pant Hospital, ANIIMS is equipped with 05 dental chairs. The current team consists of 02 Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, 01 Pediatric Dentist, 1 Prosthodontics and 01 Dental Surgeons.

Supporting the clinical team, the department also has 01 Dental Hygienist (from DHS), 01 Dental Technician (from DHS), 01 Ward Attender (from DHS), and 01 MTS (from ANIIMS).

This staffing structure ensures comprehensive dental care, covering oral and maxillofacial procedures, pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, and essential support services.

Achievements — Department of Dentistry, ANIIMS

The Department of Dentistry, ANIIMS, in collaboration with RajaSulochana Innovations Pvt. Ltd., has developed an innovative Mobile Application for the early detection of oral cancer. This app provides a platform to aid in teledentistry, especially for people residing in remote islands.

The application, known as “APP for Early Detection of Oral Cancer”, is the first doctor app developed by the Department of Dentistry, ANIIMS. It represents a significant step forward in preventive healthcare and accessibility of oral health services in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
