ENT Department — GB Pant Hospital, Sri Vijayapuram
The Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Department at GB Pant Hospital, Sri Vijayapuram is a recognized referral center for the entire Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The department caters to a wide spectrum of ENT disorders and provides comprehensive outpatient and inpatient services, including major and minor surgical procedures and audiological evaluation.
The department is staffed by experienced doctors who also serve as faculty members at the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS). It is equipped with modern medical technology, including:
- Nasal endoscopy units with visualization systems
- ENT workstations with suction, cautery, diagnostic nasal endoscopy and videolaryngoscopy
- Sound-proofed audiology rooms with facilities for audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emission testing
- Speech therapy services
Annually, the department manages approximately 25,000 patients, handling around 120 outpatient cases per day. A dedicated operation theatre functions once a week, performing nearly 150 surgeries per year.
The ENT Department is actively involved in research activities aimed at improving patient care and advancing medical knowledge in the region.
